“Parker & Maggie”

Howdy!  This summer I joined my sound mixer friend Alexis Clement as the boom-op for the “Parker & Maggie” web series. Though the brunt of my sound contribution is on future episodes, I wanted to introduce everyone to this quirky and awkwardly hilarious six-episode series.

The first scene after the opening credits brought back some fun memories.  We watch a solid half-minute of Parker flashing his fine nun-chuck skills in a tiny, pink box of a room.  I can assure you that room, as small as it looks, was even smaller in real life.  Add one wide-angle lens to the equation (to maximize the environment visually) and suddenly I had to pretty much invent a new yoga stance just to capture the audio accurately–and undetectably. But that’s exactly what the job is, and it’s oddly lots of fun making it work.

I’m looking forward to sharing future episodes, which contain tons of awkward characters and moments. Thanks for checking in.
